Cover Assistant

Up to 32.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri, term-time only (plus one Inset Day in September).  Part-time days/hours considered.

Based on up to £12.38 to £13.47 per hour (Grade 13), starting point based on experience with the possibility of a higher unqualified teaching salary for those who undertake more responsibility.   

We are seeking a Cover Assistant to supervise the learning of students in the absence of teaching colleagues.  This role can be useful experience (but is not exclusively so) for those considering a career in secondary teaching.

Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide educational, personal and social support to individual and groups of students with a range of educational needs.  

35 hours per week, term time only plus 21 additional hours.  Salary starting at £19,656 per annum (£12.65 per hour) rising by annual increment to £20,190 gross per annum (£13.05 per hour) (April 24 prices).  Additional payments for postholders undertaking personal care duties and/or with evidence of specialist student support qualifications and experience.

We are seeking an individual to oversee and undertake delivery of The Blue School's examinations and assessments, both internal and public, including entries, operation and results, whilst ensuring compliance with statutory regulations at all times.

37 hours per week, Monday-Friday (part-time days/hours of a fixed pattern every week would be considered).  Term time only, plus 111 additional hours.  Salary starting at £29,073 gross per annum (£16.37 per hour), rising by annual increments to £32,432 gross per annum (£18.26 per hour) (April 2024 prices).

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in developing their experience supporting young people to find their future training and career pathway. While previous Careers experience is preferred, it is not essential, as for the right candidate, training will be provided.

Term time only, plus 21 additional hours.  21 hours per week, based on minimum 3 days attendance per term-time week between Monday to Friday, 7-hour day (excluding 30 minutes for an unpaid lunch break, taken during the day).  Alternative pattern of part-time days/hours of a fixed pattern every week considered.

Salary starting at £13,648 gross per annum (£14.36 per hour) rising by annual increment to £15,300 gross per annum (£16.10 per hour) (April 2024 prices).

Clerical Assistant (part-time)

We are seeking a clerical assistant to work on Thursdays and Fridays, providing administrative support and assistance to the school as part of a central team.  The role will include main reception duties, reprographics and lunch-time supervision of students. 

Term time only, plus 2.5 additional hours per annum (for statutory training).  Initially up to 14 hours per week with the possibility of increasing days/hours of work in the future. 

Salary starting at £7,625 gross per annum (£12.45 per hour) rising by annual increment to £7,745 gross per annum (£12.65 per hour) (April 2024 prices).

Our cleaning team ensure a safe, clean and pleasant environment for students, staff and visitors at The Blue School.

Term-time only, plus 3 additional hours per annum (for statutory training).  Initially up to 15 hours per week, hours of work any time between 3.30pm (earliest start) and 7.00pm (latest finish) each day Monday-Friday (3 hours per day).  Reduced part-time hours (minimum shift of 2 hours) and/or fewer days of a fixed pattern every week will be considered for the right candidate but our preference is for regular attendance of each day of the week.  There may be an opportunity to increase overall days and/or hours of work in the future.

Salary starting at £8,170 gross per annum (£12.45 per hour) rising by annual increment to £8,298 gross per annum (£12.65 per hour) (April 2024 prices).
