Enrichment
We aim to enrich our students in every lesson throughout their school day. In addition to timetabled curriculum lessons, students have a range of opportunities to participate in further activities aimed at developing their personal skills and interests and general enjoyment of life.
Lunch-time and after school clubs include gardening, art, a full programme of sports clubs and junior gym.
Production
February sees our Production Week, with over 100 students taking part on an all-inclusive basis, celebrating their drama, theatre production and musical skills.
Outdoors and Abroad
2025 will see the return of our annual Ski trip with 60 students from years 9 to 12 travelling to Austria at Easter. The Blue School runs a very popular Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme from Year 9 onwards and every year submits teams to participate in the Ten Tors Challenge on Dartmoor.
In 2026, twenty of our sixth form students will embark on an Operation Wallacea trip to Indonesia. If all goes well we hope to dovetail this every two years with a World Challenge expedition to be resurrected from July 2027.
Enrichment Week
Every July, the timetable is collapsed to enable a "Week of Enrichment" to take place including day trips, a Year 9 France/Spain experience and Year 7 Camp to the Forest of Dean.
Details of activities of the external and internal activities to be offered in summer 2025 are outlined in the booklets below:
