Staff Vacancies

WORKING AT THE BLUE SCHOOL

Thank you for your interest in working at The Blue. As well as teaching staff, we employ administrators, teaching assistants, cleaners, technicians and caterers as well as sports/leisure staff at the Wells Blue Sports Centre.

When opportunities arise, you are invited to download the associated Information Pack and the Application Form. You may either print out the PDF version and complete it, or download the Word version and complete it via your PC.

To fulfil safeguarding requirements, our preference from the start of any selection process is that you complete the school’s application form (teaching or support posts as appropriate) fully and accurately.  We will review CV’s at application but any subsequent offer of employment will be subject to a completed school staff application form.  Please ensure that there are no unexplained gaps in your training and/or employment history.  In addition to your application form (or CV) please provide a brief supporting letter/statement explaining why you have applied for the post and why you consider that your qualifications and experience make you a suitable candidate.  If you have any queries or need assistance to complete one of our Application Forms please contact Julie Biggadike, our HR Coordinator as below.

Regrettably, due to our available resources, we cannot acknowledge applications; hence, if you do not hear from us within 3 weeks of the advertised closing date, you may assume that you have not been successful in your application at this stage.   Please accept that this does not mean that we do not recognise or value the time and effort you made in applying for a position at the school.

If you have any queries relating to employment vacancies at The Blue, please contact Julie Biggadike, HR Assistant via jobs@theblueschool.somerset.sch.uk.

SAFEGUARDING

As part of the school's commitment to safeguarding children and young people and in line with the statutory requirements as outlined in the DFE: Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) process.  Other safeguarding checks will also be undertaken as part of the recruitment process.   Depending on consideration of the nature and time of an offence, a criminal record does not automatically exclude an individual from working with children in schools.
